This weekend's storm hasn't just closed down schools and roads across South Dakota; it's also forced our state lawmakers to change their normal routine.
A normal Monday morning in Pierre usually involves the state legislature resuming but that's not the case this week. With the interstates closed, lawmakers decided to push back the start of this week's work to Tuesday.
Interstate 90 is closed from Wall to Sioux Falls. Interstate 29 is closed from Sioux Falls to the North Dakota border. Crews will be out to work on the interstates but strong winds are blowing the recent snow and there's no word on how long the interstates will be closed.
Rather than meeting Monday through Thursday, lawmakers will meet Tuesday through Friday. They will still cover the same issues but the schedule has been pushed back by one day.
