We have areas of dense fog in northeastern SD this morning with an advisory for fog in both Aberdeen and Watertown until 9am. The wind will be picking up from the south during the day East River at 15-25mph with temperatures returning to the 40s under partly cloudy skies. A cold front will move across KELOLAND tonight and that will lead to cooler weather tomorrow, especially in northern KELOLAND where highs will struggle to about 30 in Aberdeen. Any cooling we see tomorrow will be short-lived as temperatures start to climb on Friday.
There will be more wind in KELOLAND Friday night and Saturday morning as the warm front moves across the area. We could also see more wind again on Sunday and Monday, but temperatures will be very mild this weekend compared to normal with 50s likely, even 60s West River.
We are watching a strong cold front that could arrive late Monday and Tuesday. Some wind and snow could fall in North Dakota, something we’ll watch over the next few days.
