A cold front is on the move this morning and strong winds are forecast across much of KELOLAND. We are tracking a cold front on VIPIR with very little chance of rain.
Temperatures are starting out not as chilly, with mid 50s early this morning in downtown Sioux Falls.
Winds are forecast to increase significantly by midday into the afternoon, with many gusts over 30mph. Sioux Falls will see highs in the lower 70s.
Futurescan is showing strong winds in most corners of KELOLAND, with the strongest gusts found in the central and west over 40mph at times.
This will contribute to high fire danger red flag warnings in effect for much of KELOLAND.
Looking ahead, a stronger cold front will be moving south by Friday with the possibility of rain or snow showers in Minnesota.
Highs will struggle to reach the upper 50s and lower 60s on Saturday as the coldest air of the season arrives. Frost or freeze conditions appear likely by Sunday morning, followed by warming trends early next week.
