We have another active forecast in much of KELOLAND today. First, showers and t-storms are already developing in southwestern and southcentral SD. This activity will move to the east during the morning…possibly reaching the Sioux Falls area by late morning with a chance of isolated t-storms. More numerous showers and t-storms will be likely along the Missouri River Valley through early afternoon. Some severe weather will be possible, with hail the main threat.
As the storms become more organized through the afternoon, the highest risk of severe weather will be in Nebraska. Extreme southern South Dakota will see a slight risk of severe weather as well. The heaviest rain will accompany the strongest storms, bringing the highest chance of 1-3” rainfall to areas along and south of I-90 through this evening. Rain chances will extend as far north as Aberdeen by this evening.
Rain chances should exit early tomorrow morning, but another system will affect western SD again by mid afternoon tomorrow. Highs will stay in the 70s in most areas tomorrow.
More showers and t-storms are likely by the weekend. Temperatures will also stay cool with many areas in the mid 60s to near 70. It looks like temperatures will return to normal levels early next week.
