Areas of light snow are coming to an end, but the heavy snow has left an impact on many areas of central and northeastern SD. Here are a few snowfall totals:
Aberdeen: 8”
Veblen: 10”
Turton: 6.9”
Gettysburg: 6”
Presho: 3.3”
Sisseton: 6”
We’ll have more totals through the day. There are also areas of black ice in the southeast once again, so take care on the roads and give yourself extra time to travel. Highs today will rebound into the 30s in many areas of the south, with 20s in the north.
Much colder air and northwest winds will filter south tonight and tomorrow, with highs early in the day in southeastern KELOLAND. Late afternoon temps in the single digits look likely in many areas East River with subzero wind chills. The chance of flurries and light snow will continue tomorrow, especially in the far west where more light snow is forecast Wednesday night.
The coldest air of the season will arrive on Thursday will highs of -8 in Aberdeen, while Sioux Falls will struggle to hit 0. Warmer air will begin to rebound in the west Friday and this trend will spread east for the weekend.
