Storm Center Update-Tuesday AM

Most areas of KELOLAND will be mild once again today high temperatures forecast into the 50s with mostly sunny skies.   Upper 30s are likely across the northeast.  Winds will be much lighter today at 5-15mph. Dry weather conditions will continue tonight with low temperatures in the upper teens in the northeast and 20s elsewhere.  Tomorrow will be another mild day with highs into the 60s in western and southern South Dakota.  Sioux Falls won’t be that warm, but 50s will be likely.  However, changes are in store by Thursday.  A cold front will likely arrive by early afternoon, possibly trigging scattered showers in the south and east.  A stronger push of colder air will arrive on Friday with additional chances of light snow.  Right now, the best chances of light snow appear to be in the northern half of KELOLAND where a 1-3” snow could develop.  Once this system departs Friday, we’ll be looking forward to a colder weekend with highs in the 20s and 30s both Saturday and Sunday.  Another coating of snow will be possible in mainly southern and eastern KELOLAND on Sunday.  The European model continues to be the most aggressive solution on that storm, so stay tuned for more information.  Even if the snow stays light, colder weather will likely continue into early next week with high struggling into the 10s and 20s.
