Storm Center Update-Tuesday AM
November 15, 2011, 5:35 AM
SIOUX FALLS, SD - We have a windy day in the forecast for much of KELOLAND with wind advisories in effect for much of eastern KELOLAND. Northwest winds will be 20-40mph during much of the day with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. There are some very light snow showers in the forecast for western KELOLAND.
We have partly cloudy skies forecast tonight and tomorrow and the weather will continue to be very chilly. Lows overnight will be in the mid to upper teens with lighter winds. Winds will pick up again tomorrow from the west-northwest, but not quite as strong as today.
Our attention then will turn toward the weekend with a storm system on the way. We have a good chance of seeing our first accumulating snow of the season with the biggest chances northwest of Sioux Falls. This storm will be a fast mover, but will likely produce a swath of snow including Rapid City, Pierre, and Aberdeen. Colder northwest winds will accompany the system and highs will be in the 20s to lower 30s this weekend. Wind chills will be very cold below zero on Sunday. This forecast sounds more like a taste of winter all the time, so get ready for a change.
The good news is a warmer trend will return next week with no additional storms in the forecast as of now.
