SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are dotting western SD as cooler weather begins to work across the region. We have some very gusty winds in the Black Hills region at 30-50mph this morning, so be aware of that.
Highs will still be very hot in eastern KELOLAND into the 90s, with southwest winds at 15-25mph. The southwest winds will dry out the atmosphere in most areas today, limiting the chances of rain tonight as the main cold front moves in from the northwest.
That cold front will drop the temperature significantly tomorrow with highs returning to the upper 60s to lower 70s. Even cooler weather is likely by Thursday and Friday with highs in the 60s and lows in the lower 50s.
Some scattered showers will develop toward the end of the week, with a slow warming trend by this weekend. So if you are a fan of this hot weather, you had better enjoy today!
