Areas of blowing snow overnight have left roads slick in spots along with reduced visibilities.
The harshest conditions are expected north of Sioux Falls where a blizzard warning has been posted until noon. Winter weather advisories have also been posted for much of SW MN and NE SD.
Winds of 20-35 mph are expected Thursday from the northwest with higher gusts possible. Expect falling temperatures during the day in many areas East River.
More light snow is likely tonight in parts of eastern KELOLAND. It looks like the best chance of snow will be from Aberdeen to Sioux Falls overnight, where around 1" of snow will be possible.
Warmer weather is ahead in the forecast for the weekend, but we could see another round of light mixed precipitation Saturday morning. Even some light freezing rain will be possible.
Temperatures will be warmer on average this weekend, with more 30s East River and 50s in the west. The warmer theme will continue into next week with highs much above normal by Wednesday.
