Windy Weather Today….Frost or Freeze Likely Next Week.
Another mild day is in the forecast with highs rebounding into the mid to upper 60s in the east and lower to middle 70s in the west. Winds will be stronger as well with southeast gusts over 35mph in much of central KELOLAND.
A few showers could develop over the west tonight, with a better chance of rain developing across the west tomorrow. Those showers may organize into a line of rain and embedded t-showers tomorrow night and early Saturday. The weather will be very windy ahead of that front tomorrow with highs in the upper 60s, but will turn cooler behind it on Saturday with highs in the 50s.
Easter is looking slightly warmer again with highs in the 60s in many areas. A stronger cold front will arrive late Sunday into Monday and cooler weather will follow early next week.
We will be prone to frost and freeze damage early next week as low will drop into the 20s in many areas Tuesday morning. The good news cold is not associated with strong winds, so covering your plants susceptible to freezing temperatures will be more effective in this type of pattern. I remember back in 2007 we had a very warm March followed by a severe cold snap in early April that resulted in highs in the 20s and lows in the teens. This won’t be anything like that!
