SIOUX FALLS, SD -
We have a very pleasant day in the forecast with lots of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 70s East River and lower 80s across the central and west. Winds will be from the south or southwest much of the day at 10-15mph, with some higher gusts West River.
Lows tonight will be a little warmer in the upper 40s to lower 50s under mostly clear skies. This will set the stage for a warmer day tomorrow with highs in the lower to middle 80s in many areas. Temperatures could even get close to 90 in southcentral SD. Temperatures look a little cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday, but will likely remain above normal into the first 2 days of October.
A strong cold front will arrive later Wednesday and Wednesday night, bringing chances of rain and much cooler weather. Highs will fall back into the 60s on Thursday, with 50s in Rapid City both Thursday and Friday. We also have a chance of frost at the end of the week with this cooler air, a trend we will watch through the week.
