Blizzard warnings have been issued for much of northeastern KELOLAND today with blowing and drifting snow a big problem. Icy roads have also been a problem farther south toward the Sioux Falls area as wet roads turn to ice with falling temperatures. Winds will be strong in most areas of KELOLAND today out of the northwest with gusts over 40mph. Highs will range from the mid teens around Aberdeen to the upper 30s near Rapid City.
Tonight will be colder with lows below zero in Aberdeen and single digits in Sioux Falls. The forecast doesn’t look much warmer tomorrow with partly sunny skies and a lighter northwest wind.
We have a cool forecast for the rest of the week with below normal temperatures continuing. Some areas of snow will also return to KELOLAND by Friday and Saturday.
