Areas of flurries and light snow have developed across eastern KELOLAND this morning, but just a light coating of snow can be expected. More snow will develop in western KELOLAND this afternoon and tonight. In fact, snow accumulations of 1-3” can be expected across the west including Rapid City through tomorrow morning.
The other headline will be the cold weather. Wind chill advisories are in effect tonight for most areas East River. Wind chills will drop to -15 to -30. The air temperature will be cold too, with most afternoon temperatures in the single digits above zero. Overnight lows will drop to -15 in Aberdeen, with a “slightly” warmer -2 in Rapid City.
If you are in search of warmer weather, a very gradual warming trend is forecast toward the end of the week, but as the warmer weather approaches, some light snow is forecast to brush through KELOLAND. This doesn’t appear to be a major storm, but we have more agreement that snow will fall in the area later in the week.
