Storm Center Update-Friday AM

April 4, 2014, 5:44 AM by Brian Karstens

Storm Center Update-Friday AM

Look for improving weather today in KELOLAND after a coating of snow, slush, drizzle, and freezing drizzle yesterday and overnight.  We still have slick conditions on some of the roads, especially around Watertown where freezing drizzle has been a problem.  The heaviest snowfall fell in SW MN and NW IA.  Some of the snowfall amounts include:

Luverne:   4.5”
Rock Rapids:     5”
Sibley:     6”
Jackson:   6”
Orange City:    4.6”
Sioux Falls: 2.6”

We have improving weather today from west to east as clouds give way to sunshine.

We expect warmer weather tomorrow with most areas returning to the 50s.  That trend will continue into Sunday with areas of showers possible.

That chance of shower activity will continue early next week, but highs will be back in the 50s most days.  We do see a bigger warming trend by Wednesday.  70 is not out of the question by the middle of the week.
