Storm Center Update-Friday AM

January 4, 2013, 6:05 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

We are starting the day with clear skies and temperatures will be warmer today in most of KELOLAND.  Some stronger winds gusts have occurred overnight in the Summit-Sisseton area, but winds will be lighter through the day in most of KELOLAND.  Highs will range from the upper 20s in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, to the mid 40s in Rapid City.

Clear skies will continue tonight into early tomorrow, but another cold front will change the weather tomorrow.  Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler along with stronger wind developing from the northwest.  Wind gusts could be near 40mph in Rapid City.  Flurries could also develop later in the day across the east.  Temperatures will start to rebound by Sunday, especially in the west with highs back in the mid 40s in Rapid City.

Winds will increase Sunday night from the south, which will usher in warmer temperatures early next week.  We’ll likely see highs in the 30s and 40s through Wednesday with low chances of rain or snow.  There will be a storm system tracking to our south, but it still appears the best chance of rain or snow will stay south of KELOLAND.
