SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A few clouds are drifting across KELOLAND this morning, but as a rule, it will be a pretty nice spring day. Fire danger will be high in northwestern IA, so we'll be watching the winds and low humidity today. Highs will be mainly in the 70s ahead of a trough of low pressure that will track across the region today.
Winds will be strongest in western KELOLAND at 20-40mph from the northwest. There could be a few showers or isolated t-storms along this trough today, but widespread rain is not forecast.
Mainly dry weather is forecast again tomorrow, but scattered rain will try to develop tomorrow night and Sunday. Mother’s Day still looks mild with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Scattered showers and t-storms are possible early next week as a larger storm system develops across western Nebraska and moves toward southeastern KELOLAND by Tuesday. The exact tract of the storm will determine how warm it gets and also where the best chances of thunderstorms will develop. However, at least scattered rain looks possible about any day early next week. Colder temperatures will return to the west too with highs back in the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday with showers likely.
