Storm Center Update-8:00 a.m.

February 22, 2013, 7:55 AM by Brian Karstens

Storm Center Update-8:00 a.m.
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Areas of snow continue this morning across eastern KELOLAND.  Sioux Falls has about 5.5” of accumulation.  Here’s a quick list of other snowfall totals as of 7am:

Hartford……3.1”
Parker….9”
Currie, MN……3.5”
Sioux Center, IA…..4”
De Smet…….1.5”
Huron….. 3.5”

Winter weather advisories will remain in effect for southeastern KELOLAND until 9am for a general 3-6” of snow.  Highs will remain in the 20s today in the east, with 30s in the west.  Thankfully, winds have remained fairly light with this storm.

Looking ahead, the weather looks quiet tonight but cold.  Lows will be in the single digits in eastern KELOLAND, with teens in the west.  This will lead to a warmer day tomorrow with highs returning to the 40s in Rapid City.

However, another snow event will be heading toward KELOLAND late Sunday into Monday.  It looks like the southeast will have the best chance of accumulation with some wind.  We’ll have more coverage on that later today on KELOLAND News.
