Storm Center Update- Wednesday AM

August 7, 2014, 7:15 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The rain from yesterday has ended for much of KELOLAND, but a few showers are still possible today.  Here's a look at a few rainfall totals the past 24 hours ending at 7am this morning.

Look for highs in the lower middle 70s in the Sioux Falls area, with warmer numbers in western SD near 80 in both Pierre and Rapid City.  Aberdeen will be in the upper 70s with a slight chance of rain this afternoon.

Chances of rain will increase in western KELOLAND overnight into tomorrow with scattered t-storms expected.  Sioux Falls will maintain a 20% chance of rain tomorrow, but better odds of rain will arrive this weekend.

Saturday and Sunday should be more active again across the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected.  Right now, we have widespread 30%-40% chances of rain, including the Aberdeen area where rain is very much needed.  We’ll continue to monitor the latest developments with this chance of rain the next couple of days.

Temperatures will be near normal levels with upper 70s to lower 80s expected in most areas.  It looks warmer toward the middle of next week in the central and west with highs closer to 90.  Another round of scattered rain will be possible by Wednesday.
