Thunderstorms across western KELOLAND have produced areas of heavy rain, hail, and strong winds the past 18 hours. Hail was reported in many areas, including Hot Springs. Rainfall of 1-2” has also occurred in the Black Hills.
Today’s forecast calls for scattered rain during the morning in western SD, with partly cloudy skies East River. Highs will be mainly in the 80s, with lower 90s around Rapid City.
Chances of scattered rain will develop tonight in KELOLAND, with the chance of rain at 30% in most areas. Scattered rain will move across eastern KELOLAND tomorrow, the best chance for many folks in the 7-day forecast. It appears some redevelopment could occur early Friday, mainly east of Sioux Falls.
Warmer temperatures are forecast tomorrow West River, where 90s will be likely. Some of that air will spread east Friday ahead of a weekend cold front. An overall decrease in both temperature and humidity is expected Saturday into Sunday as Canadian air moves in from the north. 70s are likely early next week.
