We have another cool morning in KELOLAND with overnight lows into the 40s once again in eastern areas. Clouds have developed West River and there is a small chance of rain along the South Dakota-Wyoming border. Look for afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and light winds.
Lows tonight will be a little warmer, with overnight lows in the mid 50s. Tomorrow should be warmer in the lower 80s East River and more mid 80s in the west. This is the trend that should continue into the weekend. Rain chances look pretty low the next few days, but there is a hint of thunderstorm chances in northwestern or northcentral SD on Friday. Thunderstorm chances overall remain low because of the developing cap or “lid” on the atmosphere. We’ll watch the temperature rising over the weekend, with 90s likely West River and 80s in the east. The hottest weather should arrive by Monday and Tuesday, with some 100s possible near Pierre. We’ll also see more humidity early next week, so get ready for a real taste of summer.
