Showers and scattered storms affected KELOLAND yesterday, producing spots of heavy rain, hail, and even tornado reports in the Black Hills. Rainfall amounts varied widely, with .19” in Sioux Falls yesterday. Areas northeast of Harford reported over 1”, however. Hail reports were common in the Black Hills near Keystone, with a tornado early in the afternoon near Silver City.
Storms are not in the forecast today, with mainly mostly sunny skies in the forecast. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures will be about the same tomorrow…close to 90 in a few areas.
Friday will be a transition day with a cold front entering western KELOLAND. Thunderstorms are likely with this front and the activity will spread south and east through the weekend. The storms could be severe once again, something we’ll continue to watch. We also expect a cooler trend into the weekend and early next week with more 70s likely.
