Storm Center Update- Wednesday AM

May 7, 2014, 5:52 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

We have an active forecast ahead the next couple of days with a wide contrast of weather conditions in KELOLAND.  First, showers and t-storms have been impacting southeastern KELOLAND overnight.  Hail fell in George, IA around 3am…but that activity has moved east.

The new headlines with this storm system range from severe weather to snow.  A winter storm warning starts tonight for the Black Hills where more than 6” of snow will be possible.

Meanwhile, showers and storms with some hail potential will track from northern Nebraska into much of Minnesota today.  The slight risk of severe weather is possible in many areas just north of Sioux Falls.

The forecast includes higher rain chances today north and west of Sioux Falls.  Forecast highs will range from the lower 50s in Rapid City to the mid 80s in NW IA.
