We have an active forecast today in KELOLAND as a low pressure system ignites areas of rain and snow in the region. A winter weather advisory has been posted for much of northeastern KELOLAND including Watertown and Aberdeen.
The temperatures forecast is variable today, with lower to middle 50s in the southeast around Sioux Falls, mid 30s in Aberdeen, while readings near Pierre and Rapid City will be around 40. Winds will blustery behind the storm system, with gusts over 30mph from the north.
Another disturbance may affect western KELOLAND tomorrow with areas of rain and snow possible. Look for chilly highs again, mainly in the 40s.
Friday looks warmer as we look forward to Easter weekend. In fact, temperatures should easily climb back into the 60s for Saturday and 60s/70s for Easter. There could be some rain too in the forecast, mainly later Saturday. We’ll need to watch the timing on that.
Next week looks mild with normal to above normal temperatures likely. We could see a decent rain or thunderstorm event in the plains late next week…something to watch in the extended forecast.
