One more mild day is on the way in KELOLAND before more winter weather returns to the region.
Highs will reach into the 50s in many areas Wednesday, including Sioux Falls. Stronger south winds are expected with the warmer weather, but it will be a good day for melting snow.
A cold front will sweep across KELOALND tonight, bringing areas of light rain and light snow.
The best chance of snow will be NW IA and SW MN, where winter weather advisories have been posted tomorrow morning for blowing snow. This advisory includes Worthington and Spencer. Blizzard warnings are in effect farther east, so travel will not be advised toward the Twin Cities and Des Moines.
Look for colder winds, pockets of light snow, and even some light blowing snow in the rest of KELOLAND as colder temperatures move across the region tomorrow. Highs will mainly be in the 30s.
Colder weather will be ahead this weekend, with the strongest push of cold air arriving late Sunday into Monday. Snow chances will be on the increase on Monday, a trend we’ll continue to watch. It may be hard to shake the colder trend next week, so enjoy the mild weather today while it lasts.
