Storm Center Update- Tuesday AM

September 2, 2014, 6:29 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Mostly sunny skies are forecast across much of KELOLAND today.  Pleasant temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s are likely by the late afternoon with southwest winds at 5-15 mph in many areas.

A few isolated t-storms are possible late tonight in eastern KELOLAND with warmer overnight lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.  This will set the stage for 80s tomorrow in much of KELOLAND.  In fact, Pierre could touch 90 by late afternoon.  The humidity will increase in southeastern KELOLAND too, with dew points above 70.  The atmosphere will become increasingly capped through the day, so thunderstorm chances will only be at 20%.  The best chance for storms will be to the northeast toward St. Cloud and Willmar, MN.

Cooler weather will be the main headline for the rest of the week.  Highs will be in the mid 60s to lower 70s, a trend that will continue into the weekend.  Other than a few light showers in the Black Hills, most areas should stay dry.
