Mostly sunny skies and warm weather is expected in KELOLAND today. Look for highs in the mid 80s in both Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, with temperatures near 90 in Pierre and Rapid City. We may have a couple of thunderstorms in the Black Hills later this afternoon, something we’ll keep an eye on.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible in western South Dakota tonight along a warm front, with some of the rain spreading east toward Pierre late tonight. The chance of rain is 40%.
The rain chances will spread east tomorrow, although the morning activity will likely dissipate. New thunderstorms are expected by late afternoon East River and some could become severe, especially if the clouds give way to more sunshine in the middle part of the day.
Showers and storms are likely tomorrow night, followed by a more heat and humidity on Thursday. In fact, heat index readings in the lower to middle 90s are possible.
More rain is likely by late Friday into Saturday as a stronger cold front drops south into KELOLAND. The weather is likely to turn cooler this weekend and early next week with highs falling into the lower 70s.
