Storm Center Update- Tuesday AM

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast the next few days, with areas of heavy rain likely.  Chamberlain already is reporting over 1” or rain, with good chances of rain through the day.  Sioux Falls will have about a 50%-60% chance of showers, with a 30% chance of rain in Aberdeen.  Rapid City and Pierre will both have higher chances of thunderstorms.  Highs will stay in the mid to upper 70s in most areas, with a few lower 80s in south-central and southwestern SD.

Numerous showers and storms are expected tonight in southeastern KELOLAND.  Amounts of 1-2” are possible in the Sioux Falls area.  Chances of rain will also increase in the northeast, with chances of rain at 40% in Aberdeen.  Pierre and Rapid City will maintain good chances of showers and thunderstorms as well.

Rain chances will shift east tomorrow through the day, with Sioux Falls remaining in a 60% chance of rain.  Highs will be cooler…only in the lower 70s under the cloudy skies in the east. 

Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances will continue the rest of the week.  In most areas, the chance will be 20-30%.  Highs will stay in the mid 70s to around 80.
