Storm Center Update- Tuesday AM

May 27, 2014, 7:04 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Scattered showers and t-storms have been dotting KELOLAND the past 24 hours with some locally heavy rainfall.  Mitchell picked up nearly an inch of rain, with similar amounts around Brookings.  Scattered storms affected Freeman, Menno, Ree Heights, and parts of SW MN.  Here are a few more rainfall totals.

More scattered rain is possible today for those looking for some moisture.  Highs will be mainly in the 80s.

Scattered rain will end this evening in most areas of KELOLAND.  Lows will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Starting tomorrow, we are heading to a drier and warmer forecast.  Highs will be close to 90 in western KELOLAND, with mid to upper 80s in the east.  It will be humid as well.

Showers and t-storms are more likely by this weekend as the pattern begins to break down.  It’s a bit early to determine how widespread the rain will be, but some strong storms will be possible with this pattern setup.
