Snow continues to develop across KELOLAND Tuesday morning. Heavy snow has created slick travel across the northern Black Hills along with gusty north winds. Snow has also created slippery travel across parts of the northeast, as well.
Several areas are under advisories and warnings Tuesday. Winter storm warnings remain in effect for the central and northern Black Hills, with winter weather advisories in effect for the plains of SW and southcentral SD. Winter storm warnings are also in effect East River for the Mitchell and Huron areas…extending northeast through Brookings, Watertown and Mibank. These areas will have the best chance of 3-7” of snowfall.
Sioux Falls is under a winter weather advisory for around 2-4” of snow. Lesser amounts are forecast to the south of Sioux Falls where temperatures will be warmer.
This system will end Tuesday evening and warmer weather is on the way tomorrow and Thursday. In fact, highs will be back to around 50 on Thursday in many areas.
