Storm Center Update- Thursdsay AM

July 31, 2014, 7:23 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The weather will continue to be mild again today in KELOLAND with highs in the lower to middle 80s in eastern SD, with upper 80s across the west.  A few showers are tracking across the James Valley and there will be a 20% chance of rain today for both Sioux Falls and Pierre.  Winds should stay light.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid 50s to lower 60s under partly cloudy skies.  We’ll see warmer weather tomorrow with highs returning to the lower and middle 80s east, with readings near 90 in central KELOLAND.  There could once again be a few isolated areas of rain from Aberdeen to Sioux Falls…mainly during the afternoon as a small impulse affects the region.

A dry weekend is still forecast with highs reaching into the lower 90s in central SD.  The warmer weather pattern will begin to break down by Monday as we await the next storm system to affect the region.  Showers and thunderstorms will become more likely by Tuesday in most areas with cooler weather to follow.
