Look for scattered showers and thunderstorms today, mainly in southeastern KELOLAND. The chance of rain will be lower elsewhere as temperatures turn much warmer in western areas of South Dakota. Highs will range from around 81 in Sioux Falls to the lower 100s in Winner and Valentine. Winds will be breezy at 15-30 mph from the southeast.
There will be a 20% chance of rain tonight as a low pressure system slowly makes its way through KELOLAND. Better chances of rain will be found east of KELOLAND. Highs will be warmer in Sioux Falls with more humidity in the air and temps in the upper 80s. Lower 90s are expected in Pierre.
There are some hints of thunderstorms developing tomorrow evening and early Saturday in south-central and southeastern SD. We’ll keep an eye on that possibility as cooler air starts arriving from Canada this weekend.
Expect much cooler weather early next week with highs mainly in the 70s.
