The recent stretch of cool weather is starting to end with a gradual increase of temperatures the next few days. Highs today will warm into the lower to middle 80s in many areas with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be from the south at 5-15 mph.
Look for warmer weather tomorrow and mainly dry weather. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms in northcentral SD, but much of KELOLAND should be dry. Highs will enter the 90s West River, a trend that will get even warmer this weekend.
Look for breezy conditions Saturday and Sunday East River with highs in the mid 80s in Sioux Falls. 90s are likely in the west, and 100s are possible by Monday in Pierre. The heat may relax a little by either Tuesday or Wednesday, but temperatures be much on average much warmer next week. Don’t forget about the humidity too. Dew points on Monday will be in the 70s East River, so a heat advisory could be possible in some areas.
The chances of rain remain low for now, although there are hints of thunderstorms by Tuesday in western MN and northern IA.
