Another warm day is ahead in KELOLAND with above normal temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Look for highs in the mid 80s in Sioux Falls, with upper 80s in Aberdeen, and 90s in both Pierre and Rapid City. Late day or early evening scattered t-storms are possible in the Black Hills as a cold front approaches from the west.
This feature will spread areas of showers and t-storms to western KELOLAND overnight. Pierre will have a 20% chance of rain as well. Aberdeen and Sioux Falls will likely stay dry for now.
Showers and t-storms will be more likely West River tomorrow and temperatures will be much cooler in Rapid City in the lower 70s. Pierre and Aberdeen will also have chances of rain as the front slowly moves east. Sioux Falls likely stays dry, although an isolated t-shower will be possible in NW IA.
The weekend looks busy. Rounds of showers and storms are likely Saturday, with a chance of severe weather West River. We expect 40% to 60% chances of rain in many areas. Thunderstorms are also likely on Sunday, with areas of heavy rain possible. Some severe weather can’t be ruled out, so keep an eye on the weather and we’ll monitor the latest trends. Rainfall totals in KELOLAND will likely be over 1” in many areas, with locally heavier totals likely.
Showers and storms are still possible Monday, although the best chances will move south as the main front slides south into Nebraska. Temperatures will drop into the 70s early next week as well.
