A warmer day is ahead in KELOLAND with temperatures starting the day in the teens above zero in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen. It’s even warmer in western KELOLAND with lots of 20s already. Winds are stronger from the south in most areas east of the James Valley, and that trend will continue much of the day. Highs will be in the lower 20s in eastern KELOLAND, with mid 30s around Pierre, and 44 in Rapid City.
Warmer weather is likely tomorrow in much of KELOLAND, although Rapid City may be just a little cooler. There could be a few flurries in the forecast too, but nothing very significant.
Your weekend is looking mild compared to our recent weather. We are expecting the warmest air on Sunday with highs in the upper 30s in Sioux Falls and close to 50 in Rapid City.
The mild trend will taper off early next week as stronger NW winds develop. We don’t expect arctic air, but blustery winds are likely at times.
