Much cooler weather has arrived in KELOLAND and temperatures will be 15-20 degrees below normal today. That means highs in the upper 60s in both Sioux Falls and Aberdeen, with lower 70s in western SD. Winds will be stronger from the northwest at 15-30 mph. Clouds will also develop this afternoon in eastern KELOLAND, but chances of rain will remain low.
We do expect the wind to diminish tonight with mostly clear skies. Temperatures should drop into the 40s, with record lows possible if all the ingredients come together just right. That will be something to watch.
Tomorrow should be pleasant with lighter winds and mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the lower 70s in the east, with upper 70s near Rapid City. Temperatures should continue to warm each day through the rest of the work week.
Chances of rain will return to western KELOLAND late tomorrow and Wednesday, but most areas will stay dry until the weekend. A better chance of showers and thunderstorms will enter the forecast by Saturday. Warmer weather will also return with more 80s expected.
