Overnight storms produced more heavy rain and hail south of Sioux Falls after midnight. Parts of Sioux County reported hail overnight, with more morning storms around the Sioux City area. Scattered rain will continue in the morning forecast, mainly along and south of I-90.
Windy weather is expected in many areas with northwest winds at 20-40 mph in many spots north and west of Sioux Falls. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s. A few showers are forecast tonight in the far north and west. Lows will be cooler in the mid to upper 50s. This will set the stage for cooler weather tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 60s with scattered showers in eastern KELOLAND.
A gradual warming trend will start on Wednesday, with more typical summertime weather expected by the weekend. There could be a few thunderstorms in eastern KELOLAND on Independence Day into Saturday, a trend we’ll keep an eye on.
A bigger stretch of at or above normal temperatures is more likely starting this weekend. Widespread 80s can be expected into early next week.
