A very active day of weather is possible in KELOLAND today. We are watching developing showers and t-storms in northern Nebraska and southern South Dakota this morning. Severe weather is possible with this initial line of thunderstorms as it tracks to the northeast.
This first wave of storms will play a big role in the development of new storms by mid to late afternoon. The ingredients for a severe weather outbreak are on the table, with greatest chance of severe weather across extreme SE SD, NW IA, and NW IA. Large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes are possible. Keep a close eye on the weather today and be alert to severe weather in eastern KELOLAND.
More storms are possible tomorrow…mainly in the northern half of KELOLAND. The cap will be stronger in southern KELOLAND, keeping storm development less likely. Highs will be in the 90s south of Sioux Falls, with 70s in the far north.
Another severe weather event is possible late Wednesday across the eastern KELOLAND. All modes of severe weather will be possible.
Cooler weather is forecast by Thursday with a slight chance of rain Thursday and Friday.
Again, stay tuned to the weather today for the latest severe weather forecast.
