Storm Center Update- Friday AM

July 11, 2014, 7:11 AM by Brian Karstens

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Showers and thunderstorms continue to move east this morning in southern KELOLAND.  Sioux Falls picked up about .40” as of 5:45.  Some amounts over an inch have been estimated south of Mitchell near Corsica and Parkston.  Rainfall has remained scattered across the northeast including Huron the past 24 hours.  Storms also affected the Black Hills yesterday with large hail near Pactola Reservoir.  Here are few of the rainfall totals the past 24 hours as of 7:30am

Partly sunny skies are forecast today in KELOLAND with warmer temperatures west of Sioux Falls.  Mitchell and Huron could hit the lower 90s.  We are expecting lower 80s in Sioux Falls.

Scattered rain is back in the forecast tonight in KELOLAND.  The best chances of heavier rain and stronger thunderstorms will be along and south of I-90 late this evening.  Chances of rain will stay at 20-30% in Aberdeen.

Rain chances will continue on Saturday, with the best chances found in southeastern KELOLAND.  Clearing is expected from north to south during the day, with most of rain chances exiting the southeast by evening.

Highs should stay in the 80s this weekend, but a major change will head our way by Sunday night and Monday.  Highs will drop into the 60s and lower 70s by Monday and Tuesday.
