One system is exiting KELOLAND this morning while a new one is entering the picture from the northwest. This means Sioux Falls and much of the southeast will have more periods of sunshine today with highs back in the mid 60s. Other areas to the northwest will see areas of scattered showers today.
Highs should still be in the 60s for Aberdeen, Pierre, and Rapid City.
Your weekend forecast looks fair, with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s tomorrow. Scattered showers can’t be ruled out West River, but more rain chances will return Saturday night and Sunday. Sunday will likely be cooler as a result of the scattered rain.
Warmer weather is back for much of next week, with 60s very likely in the forecast. A few 70s are possible too, but the jet stream pattern will deliver several disturbances to the region. Showers and thunderstorm chances will be best by midweek, so overall it looks like a typical early May forecast.
