A quiet day is ahead in our weather, but big changes are coming for the weekend as a major storm system heads toward KELOLAND.
Starting with today, highs will be in the 70s with mainly light winds…a nice day.
A few sprinkles may develop tonight in Aberdeen, but nothing heavy is expected. Bigger chan changes are on the way tomorrow.
First, stronger east winds will develop during the day as a strong storm system develops to our southwest. A strong warm front will develop late in the day in Nebraska. This should trigger scattered storms late Saturday night in southeast KELOLAND. Some severe weather will be possible, mainly hail and wind threats.
Additional rounds of showers and storms will develop Sunday. The rain could be heavy, with an .50” to 1.5” widespread with this storm. The low will be slow too, so additional rain will wrap around the low pressure system through much of early next week.
We also could see heavy snow in the Black Hills, a threat we’ll keep a close eye on. Temperatures look cooler early next week in most areas, so enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts. More updates on this developing storm through the day.
