After a very mild day on Thursday, colder weather has started returning to KELOLAND. This trend means highs will be back in the upper teens for Sioux Falls, with even colder weather for Aberdeen. Areas of snow will be possible on Friday in the northeast, but amounts will be very light under an inch. Sioux Falls may see some of that light snow Friday night too, but again, amounts will be minimal. Western and central KELOLAND will be colder too the next 36 hours, but Rapid City will still reach 32 Friday and more 30s are likely on Saturday.
The next thing to watch is warmer weather next week. Highs by Monday will likely be in the 30s and 40s in much of KELOLAND as Pacific air replaces the arctic air. Highs should be mild until either late Wednesday or Thursday. We do expect another strong arctic cold front late next week again, so enjoy the “warmer” weather when it arrives.
