SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Areas of dense fog have been reported in KELOLAND this morning. Fog is expected to lift throughout the day, but cloud cover will remain in place in much of the southeast. Temperatures this afternoon will remain cooler than normal in Sioux Falls with a high near 73. Aberdeen will be partly cloudy and a little warmer with highs close to 79. Pierre will see partly cloudy skies with a high near 80, while sunshine is expected in Rapid City with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Warmer trends are ahead for the weekend. Highs on Saturday will range from 80 in Sioux Falls to near 92 in Rapid City. Even warmer conditions are expected on Sunday in many areas and mainly dry weather is forecast for the weekend. By early next week, there could be a small chance of rain in the northeast on Monday. However, the main story will be warmer weather with highs close to 90 in Sioux Falls by Tuesday and Wednesday. Aberdeen, Pierre, and Rapid City could see highs in the 90s. The other headline next week is the increase in humidity. Dew points are likely to stay in the 60s for several days. Overnight lows will also be much warmer as a result, mainly the mid 60s to near 70. The next chance of rain will be on Thursday as a storm system approaches from southern Canada. This feature could also give us some slightly cooler weather late next week.
