Storm Center Update - Wednesday PM

August 27, 2014, 3:24 PM by Scot Mundt

Rain will become widespread in western and south central South Dakota this evening and early tonight.  Periods of heavy rain will be possible.  The heavy rain will shift into southeast KELOLAND overnight with amounts of one to three inches being common.  The best chance for the heavy rain will be along and south of interstate 90.  Lows will fall to the fifties and sixties.

Rain will linger in southeast KELOLAND on Thursday while clouds decrease from west to east.  With the sunshine, western and central South Dakota will have highs in the eighties while the east will be cooler.  Highs in eastern KELOLAND will be in the seventies.

Skies will remain dry in KELOLAND for Friday and Saturday with highs in the seventies and eighties.  Clouds will be thick on Sunday ahead of cooler air.  The thicker clouds will eventually lead to rain during the afternoon and evening on Sunday.  Some of the rain will linger into Monday as temperatures cool to the seventies.
