Light showers are continuing in southeast KELOLAND this afternoon. These showers are slowly weakening, while scattered storms have developed in the Hills of western South Dakota. The rain in the Hills will continue this afternoon and evening while the showers in the southeast will slowly come to an end. Central and northeast KELOLAND will be dry. In fact, there have been mostly sunny skies this afternoon in northeast South Dakota. As of 2:00, Aberdeen is at 79 and Watertown is at 75. The clouds and rain have kept the cool air in place with temps in the sixties for Mitchell, Sioux Falls, and Yankton.
Isolated showers will be possible this evening and early tonight in southeast KELOLAND, while western South Dakota will have scattered storms through the overnight. Central and northeast KELOLAND will be dry. Lows will fall to the fifties and sixties tonight.
Another round of showers and storms will be possible Thursday afternoon in southeast and western South Dakota. As of now, central and northeast KELOLAND will be dry. Temperatures will warm to the seventies and low eighties while winds remain light.
Pieces of energy will continue to roll through the upper layers of the atmosphere to allow for scattered rain through the weekend. Temperatures will remain a couple of degrees below average, but eastern KELOLAND will return to highs in the lower eighties by Sunday.
