Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies will continue this evening and tonight. Lows will eventually fall to the twenties and thirties with light winds.
Thursday will be dry but cooler. Highs will be in the upper forties in north central and northeast South Dakota with fifties elsewhere. Winds will favor a north to northeast direction of ten to twenty miles per hour to help bring in the cooler air. Friday’s temperatures will be about the same, but the clouds will be a little thicker and the winds will be a little stronger. This is ahead of the approaching storm system for the weekend.
Saturday will feature very warm air in eastern and southeast KELOLAND. Highs should easily make the middle sixties from Yankton to Marshall and east. This also comes with a slight chance for rain. The temperatures will not be as warm the farther west and north you go. Highs in western KELOLAND will be in the middle thirties with a good chance for snow. Central, north central, and northeast South Dakota will be in the forties with a slight chance for a wintry mix. The heaviest precipitation will be north and west of KELOLAND.
Much colder air will pour into KELOLAND Saturday night into Sunday. Highs on Sunday will only be in the twenties with strong north winds.
