Strong winds will continue through the evening and tonight. As a cold front moves through eastern and southeast KELOLAND, it will result in northwest winds at fifteen to thirty miles per hour. The winds will usher in much cooler air for tomorrow and the rest of the week. Highs on Thursday afternoon will be at least twenty-five to thirty degrees colder in the southeast. Northeast, central, and western South Dakota will struggle to get highs near fifty.
The change in temperature also comes with a slight chance for light showers. A couple of flakes of snow will also mix in for north central and northeast KELOLAND, but I don’t expect accumulating snow. The Hills (Lead/Deadwood) of western South Dakota will have a chance at a couple of inches tonight. Lows will fall to the thirties and forties.
The cool air will stay with us through at least the first half of the weekend. This means, you should expect highs to remain in the fifties through Saturday. Slightly warmer air will start on Sunday and last into Monday but another shot of cool air dives in on Tuesday.
