Storm Center Update - Tuesday PM

May 20, 2014, 2:40 PM by Scot Mundt

A thin ribbon of moisture from north of Mitchell to north of Sioux Falls will continue to move northeast this afternoon and evening.  Any rain that hits the ground will only accumulate to a couple of hundredths of an inch.  Western South Dakota will have scattered showers and storms this afternoon through tonight.  Rain amounts for those underneath the rain in western South Dakota can range from a couple of hundredths for a shower to a quarter inch for a thunderstorm.  Lows will fall to the forties and fifties.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy to partly sunny with highs in the lower seventies.  The isolated showers and storms in western South Dakota will continue.  In fact, we have the chance for rain in western South Dakota continuing throughout the seven-day forecast at twenty to thirty percent.

The rain chances will move into central and eastern KELOLAND for the weekend.  Along with the rain, scattered showers and storms will be possible through Monday.  Highs will reach the seventies and eighties for the weekend and into early next week.
