Strong upper level area of high pressure to the west will help keep the chances for storms at minimum as we go into the weekend. However, a surface low pressure looks to pass right over KELOLAND early next week that will bring showers and storms.
For tonight, any showers that did develop this afternoon will quickly fade away as the sun goes down. A few clouds look to pass over central South Dakota, otherwise, mostly clear skies overnight. Temperatures cooling down to around 60 across the area.
For Friday, slight chances for isolated showers continue for eastern KELOLAND. Mostly clear skies for central and western South Dakota. Temperatures reaching the 80s again but the Pierre area will be closing in on the 90° mark.
For the weekend, mostly clear across the area with highs slowly rising, low to mid 80s for eastern KELOLAND, central and western parts will be around 90.
Beginning of next week, a low pressure will move over so we could see showers and storms late Monday through Wednesday. The highest chance for storms is on Tuesday. High temperatures will all be cooler, only reaching the upper 70s to low 80s.
