Winds will slowly die down this evening and eventually become light for the overnight. With light winds and clear skies tonight, temperatures will fall to the single digits above and below zero by morning.
Friday will be sunny and seasonal with highs in the middle twenties for central and eastern KELOLAND to the lower forties in western South Dakota. The seasonal air will last through Saturday, but cooler air will move in on Sunday. The temperatures on Sunday will be back down to the teens and twenties in eastern KELOLAND to the thirties in western South Dakota.
Monday will bring a slight chance for light snow. This will occur mainly for northern KELOLAND as a clipper moves through the upper plains. Models are quickly bringing in much colder air for Christmas Day and the day after. The push of cold air might be able to squeeze out some moisture, so I think we’ll leave a chance for light snow in for Christmas Day. The coldest air of the season will soon take hold of the upper plains after Christmas with many locations below zero for morning lows while highs will most likely stay in the teens.
