Storm Center Update - Thursday PM

November 15, 2012, 2:42 PM by Ben Cathey

Clear skies continue with mild temperatures for the rest of your afternoon.  Despite a weak cold front passing through, we are still sunny and warmer than a typical November day.
Those same clear conditions continue overnight and for much of tomorrow.  That will cause temps to rapidly fall after dark.  Many in eastern KELOLAND will wake to lows in the teens.
A fresh south breeze will build tomorrow.  It should be especially noticeable in central South Dakota.  At times we could have gusts near 30 mph.  Clouds will eventually move in from the Wyoming border and will push to the east.  At a few select times, computer models tried bringing a compact system into NE South Dakota late on Saturday.  All models backed off on this the past few days.  Any showers that do form should just be sprinkles late on Saturday on the NE prairie.
Partly cloudy skies and seasonal warmth hang around for Sunday.   If you have outdoor plans, the weather should cooperate.  We do get some more sunshine to return West River by Tuesday.
Thanksgiving still looks warmer than average.  A cold front will come around this time though and the next system still looks on track for the weekend after the holiday.
